The Town of Eston offers curbside recycle pickup to its residents. This program is run by Loraas Environmental. Each resident has a large blue recycle bin which must be placed curbside by 7am on collection days. 

Accepted Items

  • Paper including shredded paper and those containing small amounts of plastic such as windowed envelopes
  • Cardboard
  • Tin cans
  • Deposit beverage containers
  • Plastics numbered 1 to 7 including plastic bags, laundry detergent jugs and yogurt, vinegar, milk and margarine containers

Prohibited Items

  • Dirty or contaminated items
  • Phone books or hard cover books
  • Catalogues
  • Wrapping paper
  • Aluminum foil
  • Glass

Grain Bags

4 Hire Welding out of Eatonia accepts grain bags. Grain bags can be dropped off at the farm site just north of town and must be properly rolled. A roller is available for rent or hire if needed.

 

EcoCentre

Located at the Eston & District Landfill, the EcoCentre will accept up to 500 litres of used lubricating oil, 100 litres of used antifreeze per customer visit, plus up to 1 drum of used oil filters, as well the plastic oil/antifreeze/diesel exhaust fluid containers.

Drop off is available any time the landfill is open, and there is no charge to drop off.
