The Town of Eston is now accepting applications for two Assistant Program Coordinators for the Summer Sports & Play Camp. Please submit a cover letter, resume and references to Recreation Director Bret Howe via email at recreation@eston.ca by Thursday March 28, 2019.

 

Detailed Job Description

The Summer Sports & Play Camp Assistant Program Coordinators will work an average of 35 hours per week from approximately June 10 to August 23, 2019. The Coordinators will organize and facilitate enjoyable and age appropriate sport, arts and play activities each week. This position will be under the supervision of the Recreation Director.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Lead or supervise safe, creative and appropriate play opportunities for a range of age groups
  • Ensure that each activity is inclusive for all children to take part in
  • Create activity plans for drop in programs
  • Create and facilitate activity plans for each week, plans must include risk management
  • Submit all activity & snack plans with supplies required to Recreation Director
  • Maintain a work appropriate appearance and professional attitude when interacting with children, parents/guardians and co-workers at all times
  • Where food is provided, ensure that it is balanced and healthy
  • Clear and consistent communication with participants parents and guardians
  • Administrative duties such as cash management, record keeping and reporting
  • Complete any other tasks as requested by the Recreation Director

 

Skills/Qualifications required for the job include, but are not limited to:

  • Good with the public and enjoy working with children
  • Problem solving skills in and out of high stress situations
  • Organized, strong communication and coordination skills
  • Enthusiasm, creativity and positive attitude
  • Ability to create organized activity plans, or willingness to learn
  • Comfortable handling cash
