We had a fantastic time celebrating with everyone at our Seussville celebration at the Eston branch. We had Yertle the Turtle stacking, Pin the Hat on the Cat, Sneetches Bowling, Butter Battles, and so many more Dr. Seuss themed games. It really was a blast! Everyone was treated to some very colourful cupcakes. We would like to thank all of the volunteers that came to support us. To the kids from Eston Composite School that came to run our games we can’t thank you enough. We were overwhelmed by the number that showed up and you all did a wonderful job making your stations fun!

We are now getting ready to host our Easter party this coming Saturday April 15th from 1:00 to 3:00 in Eston. We are having an Easter Egg Hunt and a visit from the bunny himself! He will be offering the chance to take some selfies while you enjoy the Easter fun! We hope to see you all there!

During the past couple of weeks we have seen some significant changes in the programs and services that we can offer you in light of the budgetary cuts to provincial library funding. For example, Spring Story Time at the Eston Branch is in jeopardy due to the recent inability for library users to place holds on and order books from other regions. We are feeling the direct affects of the budget on our patrons and will try to keep you informed as best we can. Please visit Wheatland’s website for the official statement on the budget cuts to libraries. Visit the Eston branch to sign our petition to ask the Saskatchewan Government to reexamine these critical cuts to our funding. We truly want to thank our patrons for their continued support.
