The Town of Eston offers curbside waste pickup according to the following schedule:
Monday and Friday
Tuesday – Area 1
7th, 8th, 9th Avenues, 4th, 5th Streets SW
Larson Crescent, Kay Lane, Guthrie Place, Main Street
Wednesday – Area 2
Railway Avenue, Gatenby
1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Avenue SE
1st, 2nd and 3rd Street NW
Thursday – Area 3
2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Avenue SW
3rd Street SW from Railway to 6th Avenue
When pickup falls on a Town closure date, pickup will occur on the following work day. A special pickup schedule will be issued for the holiday season.
Materials should be at the curb by 8:00 am on pickup day either in containers or bags. The maximum weight for a container is 40 pounds.
The following items will not be picked up:
• Automobile tires, batteries or used oil
• Building materials
• Furniture and appliances
• Flammable or hazardous substances
• Pressurized containers
• Needles or sharps for medical use
• Trees, branches, grass or leaves
The Town of Eston offers curbside recycle pickup to its residents. Recycling can also be dropped off in person at the Recycle Centre.
Monday is residential recycle pickup day.
Monday, Wednesday and Fridays are business recycle pickup days.
When pickup falls on a Town closure date, pickup will occur on the following work day. Recyclables should be set out by 8:00 am on the day of collection in transparent bags. Containers must be rinsed, cleaned and flattened.
The Recycle Centre is located at 118 1st Avenue SW and is open Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Bagged recyclables can be dropped off during these times as well as Wednesday until 7:00 pm or after hours in the bins outside.
Acceptable recycle items:
• Tin cans
• Plastics that are clear and have a 1 symbol on the bottom
• Plastics that are transparent and have 2 symbol on the bottom
• Deposit beverage containers

A few examples of item that are accepted:
• Milk and vinegar containers
• Paper containing small amounts of plastic such as windowed envelopes
• Shredded paper
A shredder is available for personal papers.
Items that are not accepted:
• Plastics other than the ones listed
• Dirty or contaminated items
• Phone books or hard cover books
• Wrapping paper
• Aluminum foil
• Plastic or Ziploc bags
SARCAN (sarcan.ca) offers an additional recycling option for residents such as:
• Computer monitors
• Vehicle audio systems
• Personal video systems
• Telephones (home and cell)
• Home theatre systems
• Home audio systems
• Paint cans
4 Hire Welding out of Eatonia accepts grain bags. Grain bags can be dropped off at their farm site just north of town and must be properly rolled. A roller is available for rent or hire if needed. For more information call 306-967-9353 or 403-990-2098.
